Japanese flashcards: questions
Do the Japanese decks have furigana?
Yes. Core 2000, Core 6000 and Tae Kim's grammar sentences show the reading above each kanji, the way furigana is printed in learner books.
Is this like the Anki Core 2000 / Core 6000 deck?
It covers the same frequency-ordered vocabulary, with audio, furigana and an example sentence per word, and it is ready to study in the app with no import step. Core 6000 uses cloze cards: you fill in the missing word from the sentence.
Can I learn hiragana and katakana with these decks?
Yes. The Hiragana deck has all 46 characters and the Katakana deck all 104, each card with pronunciation audio.
Is Decks free?
Yes. Library decks are included. The free plan has a daily review limit; Premium lets you set your own.
What is spaced repetition?
Reviewing each card at growing intervals, timed for just before you'd forget it. Cards you know come back less often; cards you miss come back sooner. Decks uses SM-2, the algorithm Anki was built on.
