  1. こんにちは Note that the Japanese "ha"-character (は) is pronounced "wa" in this case.

Double consonants (tt in this case) prolong or stretch the pronunciation of the consonant (t in this case. press "r" to play the audio again). They only exist in the latin transcription, but always result from a "small tsu"-charcter in written Japanese:ka = か, ta = た, so: "kata" in Japanese looks like this: かた "katta" in Japanese looks like this: かった The "っ" in the middle is the small tsu character (here it is next to the large one: つっ). This one is responsible for the prolonged "t". This can also happen for other consonant-based characters, I'll show you more examples.

Questions

Do the Japanese decks have furigana?

Yes. Core 2000, Core 6000 and Tae Kim's grammar sentences show the reading above each kanji, the way furigana is printed in learner books.

Is this like the Anki Core 2000 / Core 6000 deck?

It covers the same frequency-ordered vocabulary, with audio, furigana and an example sentence per word, and it is ready to study in the app with no import step. Core 6000 uses cloze cards: you fill in the missing word from the sentence.

Can I learn hiragana and katakana with these decks?

Yes. The Hiragana deck has all 46 characters and the Katakana deck all 104, each card with pronunciation audio.
